Parklon LaPure Playmat Size Guide: Which Playmat Fits Your Home?

Parklon LaPure Playmat Size Guide: Which Playmat Fits Your Home?

When we were choosing a playmat for our own little one, the size question kept us up longer than we'd like to admit. Too small, and every roll ends on the hard floor. Too big, and the living room suddenly belongs to the mat. If you're weighing up the Parklon LaPure sizes, here's everything we wish we'd known.

The four LaPure sizes at a glance

Size Dimensions (L × W × thickness)

Best for

S12 140 × 100 cm, 12 mm | A cosy corner, a nursery nook or a smaller room

M15 190 × 130 cm, 15 mm | The everyday favourite for most living rooms

L15 210 × 140 cm, 15 mm | Crawlers and cruisers who need room to roam, or siblings playing together

XL15 235 × 140 cm, 15 mm | A full play zone for busy toddlers and family floor time

Parklon mats are slightly stretchy, so allow a 3–5% tolerance in size.

How to choose the right size

Mark it out first. Before you decide, outline the mat on your floor with masking tape. It's the easiest way to see how it feels with your sofa, coffee table and walkways. Leave enough space around it to walk past comfortably, especially if you're carrying a baby.

Think ahead, not just about today. A newborn doing tummy time needs very little space, but within months they'll be rolling, crawling and pulling up on furniture. Many parents who start with a smaller mat end up wishing they'd sized up, so if your room allows it, M15 or L15 gives you the most years of use.

Consider who else is playing. If you have an older child, or grandparents who love joining in on the floor, the L15 or XL15 gives everyone room to sit together.

12 mm or 15 mm: does thickness matter?

The S12 is 12 mm thick, while the M15, L15 and XL15 are 15 mm. That extra thickness gives more cushioning for tumbles and helps soften sound between floors, which is a kindness to your downstairs neighbours in an HDB or condo. If your little one is learning to walk, we'd lean towards 15 mm.

What makes LaPure different

LaPure is one of Parklon's newer ranges, made with high-quality raw materials from Germany. The mats are made from non-toxic, phthalate-free soft PVC with SGS safety certification. They're waterproof and easy to wipe clean, and every LaPure mat is double-sided, so you can flip it for a fresh look.

When your mat arrives

Your Parklon mat arrives rolled up in a box, so you may notice some creases at first. That's completely normal. Lay it flat and give it two to three weeks, and they'll gradually soften out.

Caring for your playmat

• Wipe spills with a damp cloth and mild soap, then let it air dry.
• Avoid dragging heavy furniture across it.
• Flip it every now and then so both sides wear evenly.

Warranty

Every Parklon playmat from the little oak tree. comes with a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship (PE playmats excluded).
